We are excited to host some summer workshops this summer for our Jordan Music School students, and any other family, friends, and neighbors that would like to join us!

WHAT ARE SUMMER MUSIC WORKSHOPS?

​

- With a blend of instruction + games, our Summer Music Workshops are a fun way for students to increase their ability to grasp various music education concepts.

​

- These workshops are designed to supplement summer lessons (not replace them). Students can immediately apply what they learn in workshops to their lessons and practice, reinforcing key concepts, and strengthening their retention and musical growth.

​

- If you need to miss a summer lesson, please check the lesson Calendar first. Missed lessons can be exchanged for a $30 workshop credit—just let us know which lesson date(s) you’re replacing when you sign up.

Note Recognition

- Students learn to quickly recognize the Treble & Bass Clef Staff Notes, which will help grow confidence in sight-reading!

Price: $15 per student, per day

*One or two of these workshop days may be held outdoors. If so, we'll give advanced notice of where to meet.

Creative Composing

- Learn to Compose your own piece and get some assistance along the way. If you've wanted to enter a piece into Reflections this year, this is a great place to start!

Price: $20 per student, per day

Bring: Water Bottle, Snack, Laptop & Charger

Performance Anxiety

- Let's work together to shift your performance mindset. Learn tricks of the trade to help you feel confident going into your next performance.

Price: $20 per student, per class

Bring: Instrument, Sheet Music, and a Song prepared to perform

Ages 7 - 12: Tuesday, June 30th at 10:30 - 12:00pm  //  Monday, July 27th at 10:30 - 12:00pm

Ages 13 - 18: Tuesday, June 30th at 12:00 - 1:30pm  //  Monday, July 27th at 12:00 - 1:30pm

Chords & Lead Sheets+

*For Piano - Any instrumental/vocal student may join, as long as they know the names of the white keys on the piano.

- This is a two-day workshop! Day One will cover all white-key chords. Day Two will cover how to apply chords to improvising, composing, playing familiar songs by ear, and reading Lead Sheet music (playing chords with one hand and chords in the other hand). This workshop pairs well with the Composition workshop!

- Day One can be attended on its own. However, Day Two cannot be attended without attending Day One first.

Price: Day One only: $15 per student // Day One + Day Two: $30 per student
