POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
We are excited to have you with us! Please review and initial each policy, indicating your understanding and agreement.
Jordan Music School reserves the right to alter or change these policies, and will give 30 days written notice to any changes.
TUITION
-
Tuition remains the same each month, regardless of missed lessons, and will not be prorated nor refunded.
Please see our cancellation and make-up policies below for more details on missed lessons.
-
Tuition is to be paid to Jordan Music School via automatic monthly payments by credit card on the 1st of each month.
Invoices will be sent through an online system called My Music Staff, and automatic credit card charges will be processed securely through PayPal.
Tuition received after the 5th day of the month will be charged a late fee of $10.00. Accounts that are not kept current are subject to termination of enrollment from Jordan Music School.
-
Registration Fee: There will be an Annual Registration Fee of $40 per family to cover teaching supplies, and other expenses of running the music school. This fee also helps to improve your student's experience throughout the year and enhance their lessons and events.
This Registration Fee will be annually charged with October Tuition. New students registering in a different month will have a prorated fee for the remainder of the annual year.
-
Tuition pricing is subject to raise with 30 days prior notice at minimum.

RECITALS AND GROUP CLASSES
-
Students will have performance events quarterly.
-
Recitals are held twice per year in late Spring and Winter. Family and friends are invited and welcome to attend!
-
Group Classes are also held twice per year in early Spring and Fall. Group Classes are for students to perform for one another and enjoy music theory games and activities.
-
These events are included in your tuition and year's lesson totals. Therefore, you will never be charged extra for these dates, and tuition that month will remain the same to cover the work, time, and effort put into the Recitals and Group Classes.
-
*Adult students* - Group Classes are for students under age 18, and you will receive a regular lesson those weeks.
Recitals, however, are for all ages. We encourage you to participate! While it is optional for adults to attend, tuition remains the same. If you choose not to participate in the Recitals, you have the option to make up the missed event (it is not required to make up missed lessons or events). Please see our Make-Up policy below.
CALENDARING
-
Lessons are held once per week, with the exception of "no lesson" days.
-

Some months will include group classes and recitals that will be included in the year's total amount of lessons. In the end, it all averages out and each student will be offered the same number of lessons throughout the year. See posted calendars at the school for details.

CANCELLATIONS AND MAKE-UPS
-
For any lessons canceled by a teacher, JMS will attempt to provide a substitute teacher. If a substitute teacher is unavailable, a private makeup lesson with the teacher will be scheduled promptly.
-
For any lesson missed by the student, the School holds bi-monthly Saturday make-up classes.
These classes are grouped by age and are level appropriate. They are not required to attend - however, they can be a lot of fun!
To sign up for a makeup class, contact the Director through the School phone line or email for a class date and time.
(801) 515-4458 or info@JordanMusicSchool.com
Saturday Group Make-Up Classes are optional, and may be utilized in any month this class is held, regardless of which month the lesson was missed. See Calendar tab for make-up class dates when needed.
DISCONTINUING LESSONS
-
To discontinue lessons and to discontinue charges to your account, contact us for a withdrawal form to fill out at least
2 weeks prior to your last lesson. For an incredible last few lessons, giving 30 days notice allows your teacher more time to plan lessons for you to end on a good note with great skills to help you continue playing well at home!
***Please read this portion again for confirmation and understanding.***
ILLNESS / SYMPTOMS
-
When an illness comes to the family, it is best not to spread this to our teachers and student families. We offer make-up classes for missed lessons (see above).
If you would still like a regular lesson, we have found that the best option is to have a lesson through video chat so as to continue progress without spreading sickness. If the student is ill, please consult with your child to ensure they are up for the task before preparing for a video chat lesson.
-
Please understand that if your child displays signs of COVID-19, their teacher has been asked to discontinue the lesson and encourage the student to attend a make-up lesson.
Let’s work together to keep everyone safe and healthy!
SUMMER LESSONS
-
Jordan Music School is a year-round school and we believe in the benefits of summer lessons!
Summer is a prime season to continue lessons, as students are not in school, and are not challenged with daily tasks such as homework, sports practices, etc.
We certainly understand that summer is also a time for family vacations, and more fun in the sun! Please consider taking advantage of our bi-monthly make-up classes, which can be used at any time during the year.
-
While some families prefer to take the summer off, we cannot guarantee that your lesson slot or teacher will be available in the fall, as we need to keep our schedules full in order to keep the business running.
We'd like to encourage you to create a summer practice schedule and routine with your student, and we will do our best to provide any recommendations to assist you.
