We are excited to host some summer workshops this summer for our Jordan Music School students, and any other family, friends, and neighbors that would like to join us!

WHAT ARE SUMMER MUSIC WORKSHOPS?

​

- Summer Music Workshops are a fun way for students to increase their ability to understand and apply various music education concepts. We will have a great mix of group instruction and games.

​

- These workshops are not meant to replace summer lessons, but to be small supplemental sessions to assist them in their regular lessons. You'll see a great benefit to their summer music education when applying both lessons + workshops. Students will be able to bring what they learned back to their lessons and practicing, reinforcing these concepts through their private lessons. 

​

- Each workshop topic has 2 or more dates to attend. So if you can't make it to one, join us for the other! If you decide to come to all the dates under the same topic that feels like a good fit for your student, they can build on what they learned previously.

Note Recognition

- Students learn to quickly recognize the Treble & Bass Clef Staff Notes, which will help grow confidence in sight-reading!

Price: $15 per student, per day

*One or two of these workshop days may be held outdoors. If so, we'll give advanced notice of where to meet.

Composition Creatives

- Learn to Compose your own piece and get some assistance along the way. If you've wanted to enter a piece into Reflections this year, this is a great place to start!

Price: $20 per student, per day

Bring: Water Bottle, Snack, Laptop & Charger

Performance Anxiety

- Let's work together to shift your performance mindset. Learn tricks of the trade to help you feel confident going into your next performance.

Price: $20 per student, per class

Bring: Instrument, Sheet Music, and a Song to perform

Ages 7 - 12: Tuesday, June 24th at 12:30 - 2:00pm  //  Monday, July 21st at 2:30 - 4:00pm

Ages 13 - 18: Tuesday, June 24th at 2:00 - 3:30pm  //  Tuesday, July 15th at 12:30 - 2:00pm

Chords & Lead Sheets+

*For Piano - Any instrumental/vocal student may join, as long as they know the names of the white keys on the piano.

- This is a two-day workshop! Day One will cover all white-key chords. Day Two will cover how to apply chords to improvising, composing, playing familiar songs by ear, and reading Lead Sheet music (playing chords with one hand and chords in the other hand). This workshop pairs well with the Composition workshop!

- Day One can be attended on its own. However, Day Two cannot be attended without attending Day One first.

Price: Day One only: $15 per student // Day One & Two: $30 per student
